Tiong Seng Building

Finalist in the World Architecture Festival 2018 - Production, Energy & Recycling category

The industrial building is a redevelopment of Tiong Seng Contractors’ current premises for logistical operations of its fleet of construction vehicles and resources. It also includes space for their head office at the three topmost storeys. For construction efficiency, the design and construction process follows the principles of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly; the floor plate and structural skeleton were optimised for manufacturing off site for assembly on site. The building envelope, modularized for construction, also responds as a whole to thermal transfer and ventilation requirements to meet Green Mark Platinum requirements.

In 2017, the project received GoldPlus and Platinum for BCA's BIM and Green Mark Awards respectively.
